Turn a note into a picture worth sharing.
Cards is a native Mac app. Paste some Markdown, pick one of three themes and a social size, and export a beautiful PNG - ready for the feed.
A screenshot looks like a screenshot. Cards renders your words as a designed image, with proper type and margins. All on your Mac - nothing uploaded, no account.
Apple checks every release before it reaches you. Less than 5 MB to download. Or the .zip.
7-day free trial, no card. €12 once - the current major version, on up to 7 Macs · macOS 14+
How it works
A tip, a quote, a snippet of code - anything. Headings, lists, bold, code and tables all render.
Paper, Ink, or Sky - three clean looks. The type auto-fits so a normal-length note fills the card nicely.
Square (1080²), Portrait (1080×1350), Landscape/OG (1200×630), or Story (1080×1920) - the common social targets, at post resolution.
Save a PNG or copy it straight to the clipboard and paste into your post. Runs entirely on your Mac.
The promise
Typeset makes documents, Presenter makes talks - Cards makes the shareable image nothing else in the family did. Same clean themes, sized for social, rendered from the Markdown you already have.
Why
You wrote something sharp. A raw screenshot buries it in window chrome and mismatched fonts. Cards frames it properly - a designed card at the exact size the platform wants - without a web tool, an account, or your words leaving the Mac.
