Double-click a Markdown file and it's just there.
The Preview.app macOS never had for Markdown. Double-click a .md and it renders instantly — headings, code, tables, images, the lot. One key to edit the source and save. All on your Mac.
Download for macOSFree. No account, no cloud · becomes your default .md app · macOS 14+
What it does
Double-click any .md — CommonMark + GitHub flavour, in a clean reading theme that follows light/dark.
Tap space on any .md in Finder and it renders right there — the same theme, no need to open the app.
Press ⌘E to edit the source, ⌘S to save. It never silently overwrites a file that changed underneath you.
Pictures next to your note render in place — resolved safely from the note's own folder.
Offers to open every Markdown file on your Mac, so they stop opening as raw text.
The promise
No cloud, no account, no library to import into. It's the anti-Obsidian: your files stay plain .md in your folders, and this just shows them beautifully. Free — a paid Viewer Pro with extra tools comes later.
